HELPING MACKENZIE

Here’s something a little different. There’s a fascinating story of a little 8 year old girl named Mackenzie Potter who has some considerable physical challenges. She cannot walk, stand, crawl and receives food only through a feeding tube. Medically speaking, her diagnosis is a mystery. With no name to her disorder, charitable funding is virtually impossible. Mackenzie is also my niece.

REMIX THE WORLD

Hey thanks to the Hump Day Bump crowd for giving us so much love last night - you guys were awesome!! We hope we get another chance to do that again sometime.
So check this out - I've been asked to participate in The Remix Concert this June 6th at the Rivoli. The whole event is a kind of experiment. IAMIC and the Canadian Music Centre have brought together 5 remixers from Toronto and given us a set of random tracks from artists all around the world. The music is a combination of new age, classical, jazz, experimental and a few other genres that I'm not even sure of :/
So here's the deal. We've been asked to remix these tracks and play them for the the first (and only) time ever at this concert. I'm working on 3 tracks from Belgium, Ireland and Slovenia. Ever tried to remix a joint that doesn't have a beat or you don't understand the language? Am I up for the challenge? I ****** better be!

So I came across this Peaches demo that I never got around to posting. I'll try and work it into the set for the CD Release Party on May 6th (see previous post). Be warned - it's got plenty of @$$ and +i++ies!!

4-3-2 ONE LOVE

The new k-os album YES! drops April 14th, and (as expected) it promises to be nothing less than brilliant. This dude is what true hip hop is all about. If you haven't heard of him yet - you need to get schooled!
The lead single 4321 gets a complete makeover here (seriously - it's nothing like the original) - so put down the guns and show some love.

PLAY AGAIN

Okay – so I’ve been on hiatus for a while (quite a while). I’ve gotten some questions about where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing – so I figure I’ll address that here.
A close friend passed last year and I guess it left me a little confused about the level of importance I put on music and parties. You know, sometimes it just seemed wrong knowing that my buddy wasn’t around to enjoy it. Well I've had some time to deal with things and now I’m ready to get back to it. He was an awesome friend to me and I’m pretty sure he’d want me to pursue my passion. So here’s to you buddy. You’re gone but not forgotten!

In the meantime, I was still working on some projects but never released any of them. Over the next little while I’ll give you guys a listen. One of the biggest jams from last year was this Lil Wayne joint. Here’s my take.
